In this article we will explain about "How To Reset Canon i250 Printer". We will guide you step by step about how to reset your printer with easy method.

Every time when your printer run on print activities, it takes ink from the cartridge then drain it through the printhead to try cleanning any blockages. When it through the printhead, this Ink ends and gatherers in waste ink tanks, the last place of nonfunction ink. 

Waste ink tanks is full, when the printer have printed a certain number of pages. If it is full, the printer will give information to users about this situation. But in the fact, before it is full the printer should be reset. 



Cause of The Printer Should be Reset:
There are several causes that require the printer to be reset:
  • Waste ink tank full.
  • Waste ink pad full.
  • The ink absorber is almost full.
  • Error 5B00 on Canon Pixma i250.
  • Error p07 on Canon Pixma i250.
Step To Reset Canon i250 Printer Manually:
You can reset this page counter by following the instructions below, and select one of the two instructions:

Method 1:
  1. Turn off the printer. Do it with press the [Resume/Cancel] buttom and the [Power] buttom. Do not release the buttons.
  2. Release the [Resume/Cancel] button. Do it while holding the [Power] buttom. (Do not release the Power buttons.)
  3. Release the [Resume/Cancel] button three times. Do it while holding the [Power] buttom. After that release both the [Power] and [Resume/Cancel] buttons simultaneously. During initialization, the LED blinks in green.
  4. When the LED stops blinking and lights in green, press the [Resume/Cancel] button the 4 times. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.)
  5. Press the [Power] button. When the [Power] button is pressing, the LED lights in green, and the selected function is performed.
  6. Turn off the printer.
  7. Turn on back the printer and then test it.
Method 2: (Enter Service Mode)
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the [Resume] button.
  3. Press and hold the [Power] button.
  4. Release the Resume button (the [Power] button is still pressed).
  5. Press and releasing the Resume button one time.
  6. Press and hold the Resume button.
  7. Release the Power and Resume buttons together.
After the second buttons are released, the power indicator will blink green for some time and then the green will light constantly.

If you after follow instuction points (1) to (7) but the green light not light by constantly but the printer show an error in continues times, maybe you made a Mistake on one of those seven points. Please repeat from the (1) to (7) point again.

If you still meet the error in your printer, solve and reset its using General Tool. 


Step To Reset Canon i250 Printer With Tool:
There are two tools you can use to reset your printer:
  • Reset with General Tool v0.05
  • Reset with General Tool v1.01
Method 1: (Reset The Printer with General Tool v0.05)
  1. Download the General Tool (support for Win 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP). Donwlad link below, after picture.
  2. Extract file and open General Tool.
  3. [1] Select USB Port.
  4. [2] Device ID.
  5. [3] Set Destination, select printer model.
  6. [4] Check EEPROM CLEAR.
  7. Load paper to the printer.
  8. [5] Test Pattern 1, wait for the printer to finish printing
  9. [6] Test Pattern 2, wait for the printer to finish printing
  10. [7] Close General Tool.
  11. Turn off the printer (wait 10 seconds).
  12. Turn on the printer again.
  13. Printer ready for use.

Method 2: (Reset the Printer with General Tool v1.01):
  1. Download General Tool (support for Win 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP). Donwlad link below, after picture.
  2. Extract file and open General Tool.
  3. [1] Select [USB Port].
  4. [2] Select [Set Destination 1].
  5. Load paper to the printer.
  6. [3] Check [EEPROM CLEAR].
  7. [4] Click [Test Pattern 1], then wait for the printer to finish printing.
  8. [5] Close General Tool.
  9. Turn off the printer (wait 10 seconds).
  10. Turn on the printer.
  11. Printer ready for use.

If the General Tool v0.05 or General Tool v1.01 can't be open, follow this steps:
  1. Right click on the [General Tool].
  2. Select and click [Properties].
  3. Select and click [Compatibility].
  4. Check [Run this program in compatibility mode for:].
  5. Select OS. Example: Windows XP (ServicePack 2)
  6. Click [OK].
